ABOUT KETCH COFFEE ROASTERS

My name is Larry Duran.  I am the owner and operator of Ketch Coffee Roasters located in Ketchikan, Alaska.  Ketch Coffee Roasters is a home-based micro-roastery operating under Alaska’s Cottage Food Laws.  Our dual focus is on sourcing and roasting high-quality, unique, ethically sourced specialty grade coffee and specialty grade cacao (commonly referred to as the craft chocolate industry). 

After years of roasting as a hobby, Ketch Coffee Roasters was formed in 2021 as an outgrowth of my fascination with exploring the unique, natural, inherent flavors of coffees produced in lands I might otherwise never be able to travel, and my desire to roast the coffee in such a way that showcases the hard work of the coffee producers and others in the supply chain who make these unique coffees so special.  Our logo seeks to represent this.  In 2023, we took the same mindset and expanded our focus to also exploring the unique flavors of cacao through various hand-crafted chocolate products.

We are committed to offering coffees and chocolate products with both traditional and non-traditional flavor profiles.  We understand that many are looking for traditional, familiar, relatable, well-balanced coffee and chocolate flavors.  We also understand there are others who are flavor adventuresome and who are interested in trying unique coffees and chocolate products that often have non-traditional flavors and aromas.  We also understand that there are many like us who want both!  A world of flavor awaits for those who embrace the opportunity to experience new things.
